Solar Pool Heating

Solar pool heating can be easily controlled with a Goldline GL-235 system, which automatically controls the solar heating of your pool to the desired temperature, using state of the art sensors and a motor controlled by-pass valve. The pool filter pump can be used to circulate your pool water either directly into the plastic type solar collectors or into a tube and shell heat exchanger system.

Pool heating systems using the evacuated glass tubes can be used off-season to produce free hot water or help heat your home! Chlorinated water can damage the copper manifolds used with evacuated glass tubes, therefore a stainless steel (tube and shell) heat exchanger is used to indirectly heat the pool water.

Solar pool heating systems are available using inexpensive low pressure plastic panels. These components can't be used for DHW heating, but will add some warmth to your pool at a reduced cost.

We can provide any of the equipment you would need to solar heat your pool, and extend your swimming season.

The pool filter can be used to move pool water through the exchanger if it is normally run during the solar heating hours.

Sometimes a smaller pump is installed to run water through the exchanger. Using temperature control switches the pump can be set to run only when the solar heated water is suffiently hot.

Using electronic temperature control switches the pump can be set to run only when the solar heated water is suffiently hot.
